First of all, I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if anyone has had this happen to their child. Owen had tubes put in yesterday. He is doing great, much happier and more content. However, he is not sleeping. After getting up at 5:45 yesterday morning and having surgery he sure was wide awake all day (he took a 1 hour nap....maybe?!?). Then I heard him talking and playing in his crib at 5:00am this morning!!!!! Ahhhhhh! It was sweet to hear him playing, but he didn't fall back to sleep. So, I finally got up and we started our day (around 6:00). He "typically" is a great sleeper. 2 naps a day and 7pm until 7am at night. My pediatrician says he should still be put down for 2 naps a day. I'm just curious if anyone has suggestions or similar experiences.
As I type Owen is down for his nap. He is calling for his "DaDa" ohhhh, so sweet, but so WIDE AWAKE!:-)

I have no idea if it's normal or not, but I feel your pain! It's miserable when they don't take good naps AND wake up so early. Sorry I don't have any suggestions!
It could be the anethesia (SP?)messing with his system. Or, if he has been on any medicine with steroids that will do it!
I had the medication thought. I actually called the pharmacy yesterday to see if his antibiotic makes children hyper. As far as they knew it doesn't. I came to the conclusion that he probably felt so much better that he didn't want to sleep. At least that's what I want to think! :-) We'll see, he seems to be more on a schedule today.
